205 wont shift into 4low

The trans has to be in neutral.

Sometimes you have to roll it around slowly. Put it in gear (forward or reverse), get a very small amount of speed, throw it in N, then try to shift while rolling.

thats what my buddytold me yesterday, i did EXACTLY that and i couldnt get the damn thing to budge!!
gettin pissed, to a point i think it may be stuck or somethin..

just picked up the truck a few months ago, never occurred to me to try 4low cuz 4hi was all i was usin.

went to climb a STEEP hill the other day and nothin:(

so yea, level ground, rollin, neutral, the whole 9!! NOTHIN

oy vey, i may have a bum t-case...

Take a look at the linkage and make sure its not binding / dirty. If you have the removable hump cover or removable boot might help to take that off and be able to look at it from above.

My guess is the linkage rods are dirty/rusted. Some PB Blaster and a wire brush should fix you up.

cool cool, thanx guys,

now is cleaning linkage something that can be done properly with out taking the t-case out?

yeah pressure wash your truck. keep it clean and the dirt wont be the problem anymore. also check to see if your shifter is hitting the floor, remove the whole shifter boot inside the cab and see why its binding/loose/whatever.
