I just want to know how much you have clocked your 208 to get it level underneath. I am in the process of doing mine and want a flat belly. Should I go with the full 2"? Or maybe step it down a little with the 1 1/2" or 1".

Overall goal is flat bottom so I can build a skid plate for them.

I'm gonna do that when/if I ever get an answer about lubrication, when it's a DD. :D

I think it should be fine, as the 208 have slingers on the main shaft, as I recall. I could be wrond it has been a LONG ime since I cracked a case open.

Oh and found the post I was looking for so thanks for stopping in and checking this one out.

208's have an oil slinger, not a pump, so as long as the slinger can pick up the oil, there won't be any problems. I would say as long as the level of the oil is near the rear output, it will be fine.

I'd clock that sucker flat. No worries about the t-case hitting the body because I think you are running a body lift right?

I've got two of them dissassembled at the house. If you need pics of the slinger, let me know.

I have mine clocked flat and dd it that way for about a year no issues. Well I overfilled it so much at first that when the fluid expanded it came out the extened breather tube. A little leaked out and it fixed itsealf. I do not have a body lift and have x members made of 4x2 and the skid is flat but from the bottlom of the x member. So a 2" body lift would work I would think. Just watch your d-line angle in the front it can get nasty fast. I have been thru 2 so far and now I am running a tom woods with super joints at both ends and it still needed a little more clearencing to accomidate the flex of the 52"s up front. So good so far.
