How do I go about adjusting the linkage on my 208 transfer case? Dropping the body down knocked it all out of sorts. Transmission is easy. I'm buying an Art Carr shifter for that. Is there a cable shifter available for the 208? There's no twin stick in my future.

Unhook the linkage, get the tcase in a specific spot either 2wd high or neutral and put the sifter in the position and adjust the linkage to fit.
I like neutral because the shifter has the stop there.

I checked the adjustment on the NP-208 in my pickup long ago when for some reason it doesn't shift out of 4WD in the 2-Hi position--it was adjusted right,so it has an internal issue I guess..(I just drive it in 2Hi with the hubs unlocked for the past 16 years rather than take the T-case apart or replace it)..

Been a long time but if I remember right ,the two levers I think had a hole in them, you use a drill bit to align them, and you adjust the linkage so it goes in the lever without having to move them..

As mentioned before disconnect the linkage and shift the Tcase. I would try every position just to make sure you have full range, and get familiar with the positions.
Same with the shifter, make sure you have clearance and full range.

Connect the rod to the Tcase, and check the length at the shifter, try this in all the positions.

Don’t do this:

The 208 shifter handle has a plastic indicator that slides at the base. If you removed the boot and shifter cover be sure the plastic shifter indicator is in the correct position when installing it.
If it’s slid out of position and is behind the shifter it will give a half-arsed engagement and slip out of low range under load. True story I learned the hard way.
