Yes i did search.. but i didnt find the answer. My tcase is leaking from the center split where it bolts together. Can i just unbolt every center bolt enough to squeeze some sealant in there then bolt it back together without messing anything up? I assume it would only be open about 1/4" if that to just get the sealant in there and then bolt it all together again. Would this work?

the answer is no. you need to take it out, clean it, then put some RVT on there and put the bolts back in. let it set before you try and put fluid back in it.

but it seems like everyone is having problems with the 208

and 208s work great if you take care of them. its true that they can take a rock like a 205 can, but if its taking a rock hit, that is the fault of the driver, not the case.

hmm is there a lotta stuff u gotta deal w/ when splitting it in half?

You wont have to deal with the needle bearing if your just taking the case apart. just take the yoke off and bolts and should come apart. you will have a spring and retainer that will jump out but thats easy enough. take a look at the seals and bearings while its apart though. might as well get a bearing and seal kit and rebuild it.
