208 question

My 208 32 spline stopped shifting, so i picked up another 208 but it is a 27 spline. Can i open them up and swap the shafts?

The 2 million needle bearings in the center of case.

I don;t remember how many there are but you'll see when you pull i apart. Be sure not too loose any of them.

I pulled the broken cases apart today, no needle bearings, i just removed the front part of the case and removed the shaft, i did not have to mess with the chain or anything, found lots of chewed plastic parts but no chewed needle bearings.
