Hey all, I have an 84 CUCV Blazer with a TH400 and NP208. I have an NP205 from an 85 K30 that had a TH400. Are the output shafts from these two trannies the same?
 
They should both be the same. The TH400 uses a 31 spline (I think) output and should mate right up.
 
A TH400 that originally had an NP208 mated to it uses a 32 spline shaft that sticks out of the case about 2.5". A TH400 that originally had a NP205 behind it uses a 32 spline shaft that sticks out about 4.5". You will need to swap your TH400 output shaft to put a NP205 behind it.

Ford C6/205 has a 31 spline input shaft.
