Quick question that I used to know the answer to.
I'm changing from a np208 to np241,
I know in 95, the 241 changed to a different bearing thickness on the input shaft. If the case is complete with the shaft, is there any difference on the input/transmission part that would effect fitment? The only difference was internal to the 241 correct not where the transmission is concerned? Please help as I'm bout to pull the trigger on a case just need to make sure

Edit to change year.

Bolt in. You can even swap the bearings/inputs too in either case. Careful, only 88 will be cable speedo 241. 89-91 should be VSS as far as i know.

It is a cable drive even tho I don't need it since I have a GPS driven speedo coming.
I know it's all bolt in cuz I've done it before. I just remember the input shaft thing coming up and couldn't remember if it effected with the trans or just if your swapping inputs inside the tcase
Thanks for the info

Please delete this thread. I'm a tard.
The bearing change was in 95, not 85, so as long as its a passenger drop I'm not gonna need to worry about it.

Thats where my experience was different. I swapped a 1995 32 spline input into a 1990 241. It was still bolt in.

Yeah on my last one I swapped Avery his 32 spline for my 27 spline bcuz the 27 spline he had was the wrong year for his case. I couldn't remember the specifics just that it was an issue

That doesnt make any sense... Mine worked. Just had to swap the bearing out too.
