208 wont shift into 4 hi on the fly

was going up the pass today went to shift into for 4 and it wanted to just grind gears. i didn't force it in, pulled over and stopped and it went right in and stayed in over the hill. pulled off on some dirt road on the other side and messed with it and still just wants to grind gears when tryinig to put it in 4 hi while roling. never had an issue with it before now. fluid is full

Any chance you have a low tire or two?

Failed hub not allowing one wheel to lock in? That would allow a mismatch in drive line speed and grinding.

Worn out/missing syncro? If I remember there is a little brass syncro that aloes you to shift on the fly. Also is it an auto or standard?

its and auto. didn't think about the hub thing. pretty sure i had em locked in well.

Did you try shifting the trannyinto neutral and try to put it in 4x4?
