Sometimes they go for cheap. Last one I heard of was a Frito-Lay Truck. Guy paid about $1500 and used the engine & tranny. Sold the aluminum box for scrap and got close to a grand. Then he sold the frame, axles & tires to somebody else for a couple hundred.

Is the 4BT a basic drop in conversion to our trucks if you have a complete breadvan? Could I pick up a SM465 equipped/ intercooled breadvan and transfer most of the stuff over to my '80? (With some fab work for the intercooler I'm sure.)

It's not a drop in by any means, but it's not an overly difficult conversion, either.
