What do you guys think about this trailer? What kind of things should I be looking for? I really don’t know much about buying a trailer, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I need a trailer to haul my 85' K5 Blazer on 1ton running gear and 37's. I will be moving to Washington in a few months and I don’t want to drive it that far.

Thanks guys

what is the GVW rating? What does your truck weigh?

It looks like a 7K or less.... I wouldn't use it myself.

Imo, it looks homemade so where'd he trailers overall rating come from? It may have 7k or 8k axles but the frame doesn't look strong enough for that much weight.

A full body, 1 ton K5 probably weighs around 5500+ lbs. A typical 7k trailer can carry a heavy K5 but it's going to be running at about 90%, or more, capacity (5500lbs truck + 1500-2000lbs trailer) every time you use it.

I would hold out for a nice, strong professionally made trailer.

edit: If you're really wanting that trailer I'd take the K5 and load on the trailer to see how it reacts to the weight. From the pic I'd bet it's going to sag fore & aft of the axles under the weight.

run away .

the jack along will not pick the trailer off your truck with the blazer on it .

looks way to redone old camper frame style to me . and if so there thin wall box tube that look good but are thin stuff and fold easy .

I had a 10k equipment trailer and hauled a few 1ton trucks with it . its was good but you could tell it was loaded . trailer empty was 2500lbs so that left me 7500 load to max out .

also if your going to keep it and like smooth ride torsion axle on trailer = ifs ride as each tire is its own . tow so much better than leaf and tend to sit lower deck hight .

How much are you looking to spend? What's your tow rig? My buddy was able to get a hell of deal on a 20" PJ buggy hauler at a dealer in Beaumont.

I'm looking for something cheap, probably under $1500.00. I don't mind having to put a little work into a cheaper trailer. Im looking for an 18' x 8' or so trailer. Something I can use for my move to Wa. in a few months and also to take the K5 to the trails.
I will be using my 2011 K1500 Silverado as the tow rig. It does have the tow package, so better gears trans cooler ect. I relize its not the best tow vehicle. Im in the market for a diesel for sure!

I have about 550 into this.

22ft camper cut down

18' deck, 90" wide with the drive over fenders.
dual 3500k braking axles. I am going to sell the trailer soon to get something with 10k axles or just put 10k's on it if I find the right deal. I stop often to check make sure nothing is rubbing and the axles are still straight. I need to put jacks on the back corners to help loading.
