I wanted to let people know how well the IR 2135Ti 1/2" impact gun worked.
We have three of them at work now. Two of them came into the shop around october, or september. The one I use is working great, but today the other one exploded today while being used.
I shouldn't really say explode, but the part that controls the flow, and has the inlet nipple on it shot out of the end when my co-worker was using it.
We use these things between 3 and 6 hours a day. So they get used ALOT.
It seems like the clip that keeps that assembly in the handle either broke, or just simpley worked it's way out. (you can kind of see the slot where the clip would go in the handle in the picture below).
Now besides that, these impact guns are friggin' FANTASTIC to use. Very, very light. Lighter then the 3/8" IR impacts we use on the smaller stuff. And they are very powerful aswell.
I am not trying to nay-say this product. I just figured that since this happened I should let people know. So if you own one, or may buy one, just keep an eye on that clip.
This also may have been a fluke, because the other two are still cranking bolts down, and have not shown any sign of fatigue at all. I have never seen this happen before. We are still using some IR 213c impacts that are over 3 years old, and they still work great aswell. They are just a lot heavier...
