We still have 2 months left.... If 87 unleaded hits the 2 dollar mark by then, I'm going.

Sounds like a gamble so I better not jinx it.
I hope your gamble works out for more reasons than one!

I am building a truggy that SHOULDN'T be street driven that far with a motor I have no time on . Which a couple yahoos seem to think I should tow a camper with .

I haven't even gotten it running and somehow appraised and insured yet with theft coverage , passed emissions , and gotten tags . ( I am not risking just calling them and saying I got a Blazer I want to insure , I have a state issued VIN and want to do this right and get theft and coverage to protect me and my home in case of killing people )

Working on borrowing a trailer from someone for the truggy . I have a Suburban to tow that with , if I score a trailer I am cool there .

I need someone to tow my camper for me . Too late to get a cabin , and she WILL NOT sleep in the Suburban . Someone has got to want gas ( and a 7 way and brake controller I will toss in ) and has a pickup .... Brian

This four wheeling thing has ruined my life to a certain extent . Kept using credit to buy parts . Bought a pop up when I used the multi use Blazer for towing AND wheeling . And then proceeded to get a truggy when I own no trailer , no slide in , and blew third gear out of the 204,000 mile pickup that needs a rear main seal and a couple freeze plugs :doah:

And I ALL I CARE ABOUT , is the actual feeling I get when I am wheeling over harder and harder things . Its a little selfish , but

Sig material :D

I hope you can make it this year Paul, I think I remember seeing your truck last year but I don't think we've never met in person :deal:

I'm easy to spot , the chubby guy with a Bud Light and a Marlboro with whats left of a Blazer and an Italian chick complaining about the bugs

Oh I am going for sure . I just wanna try to con Brian or someone into towing my camper there for me .

Oh yea , pre Moab tease , a little dirty , but will slightly clean her up before hand . I need to final trim the hood and cut some more off :

Pauly, I'm sure we can work something out but I'm not going to burn gas entirely at your expense. I really love to go.... but....

Kids is what made me decide against going to Moab in the first place. There's absolutely nothing wrong with my Blazer right now, just needs to work on that Lockright again. However, I think it's gonna suck driving topless and doorless into a storm, or worse, a sharp-eyed Bubba pulling me over for the duct-taped windshield. Amazing, I drove it home in that condition from Moab last year and still haven't been ticketed to this day.
So anyway.... after talking it over with the ex a few weeks ago, she gestured that I should go... I have to remind her that the boys have to be in school, and if she can make it happen with her graveyard shift then I will go in my crew cab.

Crew Cab with a long cardboard box behind it :woot:

She won't want to do lots of trails , so I have an open seat with extra padding under the cover !

If you went with crew cab , I was going to offer you at least 150 , and the brake controller and the 7 way plug I am pulling from the pickup before I sell her .

You need that to get your own trailer later anyway , they all come with brakes and a 7 way now :thumb:

I have a feeling a cabin will be opening up shortly pauly...

I missed this post last night... What's this all about? You're still going, right?

And Pauly, cool deal. We'll get together one day and get the brake controller in.

Don't even like thinking about this :(but....I'm figuring about $750 in diesel, another $500 for hotel and then another $800 for food, drinks, propane for the rig and misc crap. So....if I keep it under $2k I'll be stoked.

I bought diesel today for $3.93 a gallon. Compared to 6 months ago, the savings pays for the hotel. Still about $2 a gallon too high.
