What is differance between BBC 049 heads and 236s ? And with machining
will the 236 run up to 5800 rpms

The 236's are Peanut Port heads, low end only.... I would snatch up those 049's, open them up a little with a bit bigger valves and they will run to 5800 unless you are stabbing a 4.25" crank in there....

no big crank, just got offered 236s for a good price and needed to know if porting ect would help me get to 5800 range
