241 Clocking ring

here is the pic of my crossmember, sorry it took so long.

its hard to tell, but where the mounts bolts is 1/4" bent to let the mount fit inside it. i bent it that way so it has more weld holding it so its not so easy to break the weld. i have had no problems with it

I have 4 inch lift, zero rates front and rear and my axles moved outwards 1.5 inches each. I had my shafts lengthened when I did all this by about 2 inches. Now I added a 1 inch body lift and clocked the tcase all the way up (that is putting the studs in the third whole from the flush mounted screw correct). Now my front driveline is about an inch to 1.5 inches from even sitting in the yolk. That means I need a 3.5 inch longer shaft? How do you guys use your stock shafts. Also my 241 still hangs about 1.25 inches below the frame. If I remove those spacers I assume it will fix this?

Also to grind my shaft I am supposed to pull the u joint and grind the bottom of the U in the shaft correct (hope that makes sense). How far do I grind it and how wide?

i don't know how i used the stock shaft, it just fits. 1 have 4" lift and thats it. axles i stock position. the onylthing i can think of is your didn't have them lengthened enough the frist time. also i pushed the tcase up about 1" to get it above the frame.

if you take the shaft out, you will see the stops on every side. there are 8 of them. you just grind down the stops till they don't hit anymore.

BIg chevy you put 1 inch spacers above the frame, or does your new crossmember hold the tcase mount 1 inch higher than stock. How much stress does that put on your engine mounts. That is some rad work esteban.

I like that how long did that take ya?

i don't know how much higher it sits over stock. i had to change to the shorter adapter to make it all work. all i did was make the crossmember so the mounts sit flush with the bottom of the frame and bolted it up.

ive never thouhg about puting more stress on the mounts /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
now that i think about i mey need new ones. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Not very long at all. I think I took longer laying under the truck staring at it figuring what I wanted to do with it and how. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

[/ QUOTE ] You probably don't have to worry about ti too much. People drop their transfer case around here all the time to get rid of vibes from the rear shaft and I haven't heard of anyone having problems with their motor mounts.

I have about 10 runs on it like this and still no problems. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
