the part that mounts to the tranny has 6 bolts in a pattern just like a tire/hub.

the other part has 6bolts as well and looks like the one that i just pulled off a 203/th350.

here are pictures HELP!

tha adapter on your 465/205 is out of a newer rig isn't it? Have a 32 spline output shaft on your trans?

Pretty certain that is a 465-205 adapter, 10 spline. What the majority of them were. The shortest 4x4 combo that came factory.

doh, I Just can't recognize anything anymore. Thought the pattern looked strange.

i know its not for the th350, ive got one for that application and it aint the same....

so its for a 400? mkay...

another quick question is the mounting pattern for a 241, adna 208 the same?

the 465 isin the blazer im buildign adn its a 70s era.

i was thinking for my dd...i *think* the t-case may be tired...plus its gotta get new seals throughout it. and my buddy has a 241 in his yard outanother k5 that we pulled. i figured i may as well go through that one replace seals etc, then pop it in my truck. that was im only down a day insteadof a couple to pull the 208 adn go through it.

isnt the 241 gearer lower too? or ami just having hopefull thinkin here? haha

yes 241 has lower gearing. But we are talking 2.71:1 vs 2.6:1.... Wow.

I know a few folks have found that the shifter lever(the part that actually bolts to the tcase) is 90* off between the 208 and 241. Which required a little modification or running the different lever if you have it. Never ran into this myself, but I remember TorkDSR did.

Also for the NP241 to be a direct swap must be a one year only for the speedo to work, 1989 is the only year of NP241 with a mechanical speedo. In 1990 GM went to the electric speedo in the Burb and blazer.

welp i guess that teh k20 HAD a 400 in it...guess that got pulled and they put a 350 in it:mad: haha...ah well.

i talked to my buddy. and he says that it is a vss not a mech...is there a way i can pop this out and put my 208 stuff in? or should i take it to this shop who "regears" speedo boxes and such and maybe they could fix it...

thanks guys

I'm pretty sure the 208 stuff will not work in the 241. Also not sure how you could go about making it a mechanical speedo short of finding the one year only case to rob the required parts.
