241 speedo gears

the ones that i have a blue on the tail shaft, grey on the speedo drive.
the ones i just got are grey on the tail shaft, red on the speedo drive.
i have 42" tires and 5.13 gears.
wich speedo gear set will get me closest to stock?

witht he blue grey combo i was 8 mph fast
speedo says 80 im actually dooing 72

If you're running a true 42" tire and have a blue 18 tooth driving gear then the closest driven speedo gear to what you need would be a dark gray 44 tooth. If you have a gray driving speedo gear then the closest driven gear would be a red 37 tooth. This is, of course, assuming that you have a perfect 42" tire which is probably not quite right. Since you appear to have the correct ratios for a perfect 42" tire and your speed is still off, I would say that your tire is not exactly 42". Check out the manufacturers website for your tire and they will give you the actual tire diameter for your particular tire.

Well, yes those gears are as close as you will get as long as you have true 42" tires. Exactly what brand and type of tire are you running? If I have this information I might be able to figure out a better gear for you.

sorry to be off topic, but i just got 5.13s and am thinkin about either 40s or 42s. how is the power with 5.13s and 42s?
