So, I picked up a 241C today from a guy for $40. He got it from someone who bought it from a guy who said it came out of a '90 burb. My '90 burb has the VSS speedometer. This t-case I bought has a threaded nipple (about 1 inch in diameter) with a female square hole in the center where a speedometer cable appearently goes. Is this t-case actually for a pre-VSS (mechanical) speedometer rig? Or does the electronic speed sensor screw onto this nipple?

Sounds like you have the one year only 1989 with a mechanical speedometer. If you still have your old t-case you should be able to swap the pieces around to make your electric speedo work.
