Hi I am doing a rebuild on my 1990 suburban. Had the transmission and the tcase shatter while driving down the highway. I've got mostly everything put back but I just need to know is the 241c fill with atf when I fill the transmission kinda like a pass through, or do I need to fill it by itself. Just need to know before I start to drive it. Thanks

They do not share fluid. The back of the transmission is open, but the t-case has a seal on the input shaft that keeps them separate

It happened because he didn't know to put fluid in the T-case :D

Probably haha as far as I can tell is that the transmission locked up and all the pressure from still having the dif spinning grenaded the tcase. It did a lot of damage to a lot of components but I think I got all of it ironed out.

It threw the driveshaft off the truck looking at that everything is still straight(surprising) it destroyed the ujoints. Cracked the rear tail shaft housing and the oil pump of the tcase into 7 parts(mostly the oil pump). Cracked the bell housing and the pan. And bent the rear diff pinion yoke bolts. That seems like all the damage that occurred. I know that if I do another session of repairs it will show something else that went wrong
