Is there a difference between the 24v starter on the cucv's and the standard 12v starter for a 6.2. This is all on my 86 k3500. The starter got stuck yesterday when I was trying to start it. I pulled the key and it kept trying. So we pulled the neg battery cable. Apparently the inside of the starter got stuck and kept trying to crank. Can I use the 12v starter or will it not work?

I would pull off the starter then open up the solenoid first. you probably just need to clean the contacts inside the solenoid or rotate the battery post terminal in the solenoid.
