Ive been debating what too do with the exhaust on my ext cab shortbed 2003 2500hd. I had a flowmaster catback single 3inch kit, it lasted 3 years and the hanger rotted off. They warrantied it and it lasted the same 3 years. I wasnt sure what to do, i seen many kits that look good, but i really like the single exhaust kits. The dynomax kit caught my eye, all 4 inch pipe with a 5inch 2 foot long stainless tip. The whole kit is 304 stainless also, and i got it for under 300.00. Installed it today and wow, its huge..lol. The muffler is a round 30 inch see thru, it tucks up real nice and looks good, seems a lil loud but nice and deep and no stupid cackle. Seems to run awesome also. Anyone looking for exhaust this is a real nice kit for the price, with all heavy tubing.

How's it dealing with the 4" pipe vs 3"? Yours has a 6.0L if I recall correctly.

Yes a 6.0....The dynomax kit has a real nice y pipe that you slip over the stock pipe on the one side and it has an extension for the other side, the y had the two 2 3/4 pipes in and a 4inch out, then the 4inch muffler/4inch tail pipe/5inch tip. It runs awesome and sounds real deep, i never heard a dynomax sound so good. The fit also is perfect, all the clamps are stainless band clamps, the pieces have slits in the ends where the clamps go so it goes togeather real nice. You would be impressed at the quality and the overall design, the whole part behind the tire is a 5inch tip.

Sounds nice. I've had some crappy kits in the past so quality is a definite improvement.

Im impressed with it, Never thought dynomax would sound so good, i tried to do a video for you but it was taking forever to load. I like it that much that i used alot of gas listening to it...lol, even seems to make it run alot better. It beats the flowmaster kit by ten times, its a way better kit, for fit and sound.

Flowmaster= Slowmaster. I can't wait to get rid of mine.:doah:

I actually think my truck runs alot better with this exhaust, With the shorty bbk stainless headers, aem cold air, hypertech and the exhaust it seems to run better than it ever did.

It's the dronging resonance in the cab that incessantly assaults my eardrums to the point of ringing that is doing it for me. My truck is stock except for a K&N filter and nothing else. I noticed it had a bit more pick up off the line and did better on hills than with the stock 50 gallon drum, and the noise outside scheckshay, but that drone...:doah:

hey im curious where you got that dynomax tail pipe kit from. cause im building a 6.0 to go back into my 062500hd. and im going to be using American racing headers with there y pipe. and that tail pipe might be just what im looking for

Its a dynomax catback, it goes on right after the resonators. Anywhere that sells dynomax should have the kit, im not sure if they sell just the tai pipe though. American racing headers and y pipe..? How much are they..?

I did right after, wow too much for my bood...lol. I have jba shorties with the stock stainless y pipe. My y pipe had to be altered for my 8 inch lift thats why i didnt go the other route with long tubes and crossover.

Haven't checked this forum for awhile, but I also tried the Dynomax kit on my truck this summer. They had a $75 rebate at the time. I was very impressed with the quality of the kit and it did sound good. Drove around like a high school kid for a week, but in the end I was getting old and just couldn't take the drone so returned it for a full refund.

Finally went back to the stock pipes and spliced in a pair of 3" Dynomax Ultra-flos (same type of muffler).
