255/85/16...Toyo M55 or Cooper?

I need a new set of tires for my Duramax.

I have had many sets of M55s on this truck. Currently I have a set of 285/75/16 Toyo open countrys on it "I hate them"

I like M55s and would buy a new set of them in 255/85/16
" I have had two sets of them that size on this truck"

But this time I will only use them for winter so I don't wear them out as fast.

I hear people liking the Coopers too.




Not to many company`s make that size so selection it limited...I won`t buy BFGs


Any thoughts on the Coopers??

Jeep bros seem to like the coopers. wish I could give some good feedback on newer tires but at my rate my dmax will need new tires in 8 years

I've had a couple sets of Coopers, good tires and US made unlike Toyos. I think they have the best all around line next to BFGs. I currently have their Mastercraft Coursers on my Dodge 2500, which are their fleet version of Cooper Discoverer ATs. 40k miles so far and the way they're wearing I'd expect to get around 60k out of them, much better than the 48K I always seem to get out of BFGs. I think the BFG ATs get a little better traction in icy conditions and the Coopers tend to hold on to gravel, unlike the BFGs.

I've heard a lot of good about the cooper discoverer st maxx. I've been considering them for my next set.

So I have been pricing both toyos and coopers the prices are very close...with in 50 bucks.

I talked to a Cooper tire dealer today, asked him for a price on the Coopers. He got me a price...ok...I asked him what he thought of m55s compared to the coppers? Well he said, the coopers aren't the same as m55s, not even close. He told me he has m55s on his truck! Lol!

I have to wait for them but I am going to go ahead and get the Toyo M 55s

Been a while since I've had Coopers but them seemed to be smaller comparatively than other tires.
I like those Toyos!
