so i’m building a healthy LQ4 stroker, and i’m at a cross road between 2618 pistons that could have “piston slap” when cold due to the larger wall clearance you need with them, or run a more daily driver friendly 4032 forged piston that expands less, so tighter more OEM style wall clearances, less slap, longer life etc. anyone have experience with 2618 forged pistons for longevity? the longevity of my motor is my only concern really. also any 4032 pistons i need would be custom order due to the material choice.

What's your intended use? Power level? N/A or power adder.

it’s going in my k10, keeping it n/a, around 600hp. more of a weekend cruiser with a whole lot of “pep” i know 2618s are stronger but i don’t want to need a tear down after say 40k miles or so

If your gonna be 600 hp, get the 2618. Just dont hammer it until its up to temperature. That goes for any built motor. Sometimes the high silicon pistons will pop a ring land when they get hot in higher power applications. You also need to run much larger gaps, they suck to fit.

and there is no reason you will need to tear it back down if it's put together correctly, warmed up, and tuned and maintained using good oil. 600 is not a crazy number.
