I have a 27 spline NP205 with a th350 adapter,I saved it from my 77 K2500,it came from a '72 K series originally,I bought it to get rid of the NP203 it came with (which I still have,I think it needs a chain).....the NP-205 worked OK,not sure how many miles were on it but I never had any troubles with it,other than the pivot bolt for the shifter did break off in the adapter on me,and I had to drill it out and I tapped it to 1/2"x 13 thread and used a 1/2" bolt for the pivot,and added a needle bearing to the shifter handle to "bush" it to the right size...I also have the side bracket that goes to the frame too..........................................................................................................................................................................................................I dont know how low range is in it,my trucks floor hit the shifter if I tried putting it in low range and it did pop out of low a few times,but I think it was not an internal problem,I rarely used low range in it and I am fairly sure it was the shifter not letting it go all the way into low range due to hitting the floor--truck had a 2wd cab cobbed on it.......................................If your interested, I'd take 150 bucks cash for it....anyone wanting the NP-203 for parts can take it for 50,it did work good but the chain would skip if you punched it at takeoff...I'm located between Taunton and Middleboro MA,about 50 miles from Putnam CT and 75 miles from Norwich and the casinos...I haven't seen any NP-205's around here in junkyards ,they used to be piled up like cordwood,till scrap went ballistic last year...now they are getting hard to find...only place I see any for sale is CL and at the swap meets at Stafford Springs and Thompson sometimes the past few years...
