Stephen,

Are you running a 27 spline output shaft in your 700R4 in Wally?
I want to run a 700R4 in my Blazer behind a 454BB, but i want my trans to be as beefy as possible. My BB will most likely be stock maybe some mild upgrades, and I dont want the Trans output shaft to be the weak link. I have seen an adapter kit from Advanced Adapters that would change the output shaft in a 700 from 27 to 32 splines. Basically what are my options as far as the output shaft goes on a 700R4? Any opinions or suggestions are appreciated.

Probably would help if you knew the transfer case iwas using. I am using a NP203 w 27 spline input. I plan on using this to create a doubler in the future.

Wally was running the 27 spline shaft at the begining of Easter week and on Friday broke it on the water fall of Helldorado.

This is with the built 505 BB. I would think with a stock 454 you will be okay since the shaft held up to the 468 for several years.

There is not really a strength gain in the 32 spline over the 27 spline since both shafts are welded together and the weak point is the weld area.
