Got the power steering done today and went around the block - all well.
Later today decided I would drive to get gas and show the K5 to a friend. Course the kids wanted to come. We made it about 5 or 6 miles, coming up to a stop sign it coughed and died. Wouldn't you know it, the alternator isn't charging. Luckily my buddy had just passed me in his 70 1 ton and he turned around to come to our rescue. Wouldn't jump start so he grabbed a strap and drug me home :(

Oh well, will try a new alternator even though this one tested okay and see what happens.

Did snap some outside photos prior to leaving to go get gas.

That is a jewel. There is nothing like the "drive it around without the hood on" looks from people.:D

You got that right. Heck, I didn't even have to pop the hood to hook up the jumper cables :haha:

We were at a stop sign when it died, amazing how many people are clueless when you motioning them to go around you, must have been the missing hood that threw them :haha:

Probably to engrossed by the beauty of a first gen Blazer to go around it. Or they were just scared. :) Good news is the wife wasn't along for the second trip, otherwise you wouldn't have been smiling so big.
Amazing how a trip around the block is better than working on them, even if it's pushing it around the block.
Good luck on getting all the bugs worked out and keep us posted.
