Okay, I've worked on 14s & 60s, but I've never actually pulled apart a 10B. I have two 10B axles out of a monte carlo & cutlass racecars that I need to swap the shafts & R/P from one housing to the other. Apparently the jb weld didn't last :) (long story)

Once I empty the "new" housing, I'll clean, paint, and install new bearings, seals, etc.

This is where I need help: how do I dissassemble the axle? I know there are clips in there somewhere but have never dealt with these. If someone could provided me with some pretty easy to follow instructions I would appreciate it. I link to such info would be great too, as I couldn't find anything when I googled.

There like any other c-clip GM axle :

Remove cover , drain fluid , remove bolt holding center pin in , remove pin , push axles in , clips fall , get clips , pull axles out , unbolt caps , pull carrier .

Easier if you take pinion nut off before the above .

Then strip her of everything .

Thanks Pauly. I knew it was easy, but since I've never dne, I wanted to ask. Looks like I'll be in the shop for the afternoon. Any kind of luck i'll have the axle back under tha car this evening...
