Is there any difference between a 2wd 700R4 and a 4x4 700R4, besides the adaptor for the transfer case?

2wd 700R4 question for tranny swap

the only difference is the output shaft. Also the 4x4 case has a bolt on cast torque converter cover. I have seen some 2x4 trannys with this cover though
