As I have been looking at my two suburbans (89 2WD and 86 4WD) and thinking of swapping all the wiring etc to put the TBI, and lots of interior stuff into the 86 the thought came of trying to just swap the bodies. other than the transmission tunnel what other issues would I encounter?

i don't see where it'd be that hard but that is alot of sheetmetal to move. better have friends handy. far as the tranny tunnel goes, you can swap em from one to the other but i just cut holes for the sticks cause mine didn't have a removable tunnel like some trucks do

Well i would have a lift available to use and also a BIG forklift. Thinking of taking the 4WD and unbolting everything from the frame, using the forklift to remove the body. Then using the lift for the 2WD unbolt everything and lift the body, roll the 2wd chassis out and the 4WD chassis in and bolt it all back in place. The only difference is the tranny hump right?
