I'm working on an 85 C10 with horrendous frame cracks at steering box. Guy brought me a front frame horn to cut out and replace. It doesn't line up at all. Is there a year break for 2wd frames like there was for 4wd? Any help appreciated.

The horns are different on a mid 80’s vs a 70’s.

Are you sure the donor is C10 and not a C20?

I am not sure at all. The donor frame, if bolted up to upper control arm plate and cross member is about 2" inboard just behind shock mount.

without some pics it's kind of hard to tell what you have. The C20's and C30's use different control arms than the C10 so they are significantly different in those areas.

Here are two pics of donor mounted up. One is side view and the one with the rediculous mismatch is front to rear facing.IMG_20180316_154950.jpg IMG_20180316_153528.jpg

these frames are noodles and it looks like you have an engine/trans in the front clip right? This is one of those swaps I would be doing on a frame table.

Well, I would prefer that. The frame didn't move at all. The engine is cribbed up, core support cribbed up as well. We can put original back in perfect. That's why I'm hoping to get some info on year breaks, or as you mentioned, C10 vs c20. Thank you for your help
