A friend has a 2wd sm465 he needs to get rid of. It has just been rebuilt with new syncros, shift forks, and shift rails. It has about 10K miles on it since the rebuild and the shifter is real tight.

But if I want to put a t-case behind this tranny what needs to be done?

BTW: if anyone wants it let me know :D

2wd uses a 35-spline output. You need to change the mainshaft to get a 10 or 32-spline output to be 4wd compatible.

So in other words..

It fits a 2wd only!...:( ..its not worth the time or effort to swap another mainshaft into it in my opinion..only other way to use it in a 4x4 is to use a divorced style transfer case like a ford, that has a short driveshaft between the tranny and T-case..I think I'd go that route rather than have to gut the whole tranny and try to re-assemble it properly!..
