Will a 2WD steering box work for an 84 blazer. I've been to 4 yards here local to me and found no fullsize's with the box in them, but plenty of 2wd s-10 pick-ups and blazers. just thought I'd ask. Thanks

Steering box proper is the same for 2WD and 4WD, just the sector shaft changes.

The difference in boxes is by year, the early ones have compression fittings and the newer ones O-rings.

OTOH, if your box has issues, another one from a junkyard could easily also be messed up. Rather than tearing them apart, might be simpler and have safer and better results to buy a remanufactured unit from the local parts place.

word, i dunno if i'd sport one off of a yard rig either. unless of course you can score one for about the next to free and have the time to test it.

i'd just pony up for a reman.

I was at the jy yesterday and all the s10s I saw had the boxes mounted to the inside of the frame. Fullsizes have the box on the outside.
Good luck

oh oh oh.

Do you mean "will an S-10 box work in a full-size"? Don't make no matter if it's 2WD or 4WD, they're not the same :)
