is there a difference in the 2WD steering boxes? Which is the one to have? I have a 73 2WD box on a truck Im parting out.

73-80(ish) have one style connector, "inverted flare", versus 80(ish)up use the Saginaw O-ring style.

I seem to recall there being fixed- and variable-ratio boxes. Don't know which is more desirable.

IIRC, the only difference between 2WD and 4WD is the sector arm, the shaft, and it's popular to swap for crossover conversions, so I'd hang onto at least that part.
