2wd Suburban body on 4wd Frame

Just wondering if a 2wd Suburban body can go on a 4wd frame, without a bodylift. I have just recieved a rust free body and do not want to put the 3 inch body lift back on. If it does need a body lift, can I get away with a 1 Inch.

its all in the florr tranny hump. i just did a pickup cab swap. 87 2wd low pan to 79 4x4 4 speed. i did 2" body and it fit good. the tranny tower is a bit inside. but the boot still fits it.

If you do it, take some pics and write it up. I may, one day, replace my body.

I think you will still need a one inch body lift to clear the floor board and t-case I put a 2 wd truck cab on a 4 wd short bed truck frame and had to use a small body lift. The truck had a granny gear 4 speed with removeable tunnel so working on it was very easy.
