2wd trans conversion to 4wd

i know there's probably a thread out there about this already, but i figured i'd give this a shot.

i recently blew out my th350 trans (4wd) in my 81 k5, and i came across a 2wd th350. i know that these have a long output shaft on the tail housing, but i was wondering how hard it would be to change out the shafts from my 4wd to this 2wd, or if it's even possible?

It's possible, I've done it on a few. You have to disassemble the entire transmission to do it. Output shaft is basicly the first thing to go in. If you are going to go that far, might as well buy a rebuild kit.
