Hey guys,

Getting ready to toss some 3/4 ton outers on my 10 bolt(front). I'm looking to replace the calipers.

The reman calipers reference the rear brake size. Can I assume that they would be the big size considering that it's 3/4 ton?

Or is there any chance that my current 1/2 ton calipers would work?

Thanks!

Jason

I believe just diameter of the piston. The physical size is the same for the 1/2 and 3/4 ton front, and the 76-78 Eldo rears.

Really?? Cuz when i went from my 1/2ton 10b to d44 I used 3/4ton 8lug and brakes and i couldnt use the same brake lines.

Oh crap. My bad.

*In the same years*, the 1/2 ton calipers are the same as the 3/4's.

Early D44 calipers have the SAE banjo bolt (3/8"?) and later ones and 10B's have the metric (10mm, IIRC.) No matter if it's 1/2 or 3/4 ton, just matters what year.

there is a difference in 3/4 and 1/2 ton 10b calipers. D44 uses the same. The piston is about 1/4" larger in the 3/4 ton calipers. 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton all mount up the same.
