will a 3/4 ton rear end from a burb fit a k5? and the burb is not 4wd so will it work if i got a 3/4 front and what do i need for a transfer case ?

the 3/4 ton 14 bolt should work, you can either get a 8 lug dana 44 or 10 bolt front or convert your 6 lug front to 8 lug

Your t-case will work fine, you'll just need a conversion u-joint for the rear d-shaft to the 14b pinion. NAPA sells one for about $23 (I bought mine from them but don't remember the part # right now.) Do a search for the new part number

Edit: From one of my earlier posts..."NAPA has a new part number for the #447 u-joint (I bought mine a few months ago). New part number is #240-0447. Cost is $23.99"

In the middle of the same swap myself.Rear out of 85 2wd sub, front out of 85 sub.My 81 had 12b need napa ujoint #2400358.Shock mounts on 2wd rear seem to be set lower but dont know if that will hinder shocks when axle is pivoted. Will also need ubolts for 14b.
