so i finally blew my 10 bolt rear the other day when i was roasting the 35s out on the road and bbroke the drive shaft off and rear yoke snapped off. spider gears were in pieces and pinion gear was junk. my truck is a 87 half ton and im going to look at 3/4 tons out of an 84 which is 14 bolt sf and not sure of the front but all for 200 bucks. was just wondering if these will fit under my 87 half ton. and if i could get the 3/4 ton drive shaft shortend because my truck is reg cab shortbox

The front should be a 8 lug 10 bolt. And yes they should bolt in. Might need conversion u joints in the drive shaft, but you mentioned using the donor shaft so maybe not. Im not really familiar with the sf 14 but the axle tubes may be larger than your current 10b so you might want to get the spring plates and u bolts also.

No worries, wasn't aimed at you. :) Haven't heard the mythical 12 bolt front end come up for quite some time!

Yeah.... no such thing as a 12b front. Earlier vehicles had a dana 44 then they went to a 10b. And of course one tons after 77? Had the dana 60.

They'll bolt right in. I have an SF 14 bolt, and the axle tubes are a little larger. I bought new 3/4 ton ubolts, but was able to reuse the spring plates, but the correct plates are readily available. You'll need a conversion joint unless you reuse the donor shaft. I had to get new parking brake cables because the 1/2 ton ones wouldn't fit the larger 13" JB7 brakes on the rear axle.
