Cant figure out why my brake light is still coming on.and not getting good braking power... Swapped out my 12 bolt for a ff 14 bolt and an hd 44 front off a 79 3/4 ton k20. also added steel braided brake lines, and a new booster. any one know whats going on? Proportioning valve issues? Its also quite possible that the brake pedal was depressed while lines where disconnected. Thanks.

I'm going to assume that you've already bled the brake system? If you've already bled the brakes and there is no more air in the system then you need to replace the master cylinder. This has been talked about in several post over the last few months. The master cylinder piston is used to riding in a certain area of the bore and if it travels too far then the rubber cup gets tore up from the little bits of rust that form where the piston usually stops and this causes an internal bypass.

Hope that helps you.

Air in the lines. Start at the back - power bleed or gravity bleed then move to the front.

Just by chance, my master cyl went out when I did my axle swaps for different gearing.

Thanks for all your help. Everyone seems to tell me the same thing. I'm on my way to purchase one now. Will be in touch with post install.....
