i have a 1991 k5 with the stock 3.42 gears.. need a quick axle swap and found a 1994 1500 4x4 the guy doesnt know off hand what gears they are.. did 3.42's come on 1994 4x4 models?

Sure they did , but they won't fit your 91 :
. The front is completely different , yours is solid axle and different ring gear size versus his independent suspension axle .
Only the rear will ....... if you cut the spring perches off , and weld new ones on in the right spot .
Sorry man , you need to find a solid axle donor from 91 and older .
