I take off the diff covers just to make sure...
My 14FF rear has the numbers stamped on the ring gear:
41: 11 So thats 3.72727272 or 3:73's.

I take a look at the Dana 60 front numbers that are stamped in the ring gear and it's like 48: 13
Which is like 3.69230 gear ratio!?

That would mean it's about a 0.0349 difference in gear ratio. Is this right?
I know the 14bolts have like 4:10's and a Dana44 will have a 4.09 but that is .01 difference!?

Whats up with that? /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Guess i should just order detroits and 4:56's for both and be done with it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

yeah .30 difference is gonna hurt.

what tire size are you going to? I am really looking to go to 4.88's before i go up to 42's but i may be stuck at 40's for a while /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Doh!
I did the math in my head..
now i sat down and wrote it on paper. ...It would only be a 0.0349 difference...

I read somewhere that as long as its within .10 difference???
Or was it .01 like the 4.10 and 4.09 gears?

So i guess my question is do 3:73 (41:11) and 3:69 (48:13) gears match? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I may keep 35's for a while but i suppose i'll go 37's down the road.
