3.73 and 38\'s

just like it says anyone running this setup just put my 1 ton axles in and notice the seller lied to me instead of 4.10 they are 3.73 /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gifanyone else running this combo

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

when i was running my 10 bolts i had 4.10 wasnt to bad more specs stock 89 tbi and a th350/205 combo

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

It sucks. I ran that setup for a few trail runs when I first swapped my new axles in. The guy I got them from said they were 4.10's also and my 1 ton's had 3.73's /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Not that 4.10 or 3.73 would have been enough for the 44's I have now. If you re-gear just go for 5.13 that's what I did. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

yea i had 5.13's for my 10 bolts but never put them in the money i hadsaved for crossover is going for gears now man it sucks when people don't know what they are talking about damn jeep guys

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

Mine has 3.73 for now and it isnt to bad...But I also have a 465/205 so the lack of a Toque converter might be why also.. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

With an auto I'd think it would be horrible. I have 4.10s and 38.5s with my 4 speed and it's not bad, but of course 5.13s will make it better. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

Jerry(JK5) is running 4.10's with 38's and also 44's. With the 44's I bet he would be in a similar(if not worse) situation and his K5 wheels nicely. He even drove it to the trail alot until he got his trailer.... It seems to work pretty well. One advantage I see him having is the ZZ4 crate engine, but he runs a th350 and 205....

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

Jerry wants lower gears, he just doesn't want to buy a new ARB, and I don't blame him! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

Yes, I am. It SUCKS going up hills. I run a 350 (low rpm torque) & TH350 with a 2500 rpm stall TQ. I need it just to get the beast rolling. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif You'll want to regear SOON if you plan on staying with 38's. Do yourself a favor and go 5.13's if don't plan on running anything smaller than a 37" in the future. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

yeah i have brand new in theh box 5.13's for my old ten bolts /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif now to sell them and get 5.13's next seaon i want to run 40's

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

I was running 3.73 and 36's and lacked lots of power in the bottom end. I now have 33" tires and still lack power in the bottom end. I have a 90 350 TBI with a th350/np203 with a part time kit. I want to run 38.5 - 39.5 TSL's of some type, I was thinking 4.56's cuz its also my DD.

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

its all about the 5.13s... I have 4.56s right now, didn't even use OD on the way to TSF with the 39.5s on...

Over drive, is over rated. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Unless of course you have it so you can run 5.13s with 35s or 7.17s and still cruise down the road, then I respect you. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: 3.73 and 38\'s

I think 3.73 will be a little on the crappy side. I agree with an auto, it will suck. I have 4.10s. I have plenty of power for hills, burnouts, ect. I also have a low first gear.

Yes, I know that. I am just saying he is running that combo and it is working out pretty decently...
