3.90 is kind of a half step, like 5% instead of 10%. I just bolted-up 34.5s, going from 31.7, so instead of 10% or 20%, I'm moving up 15%. 3.73 would have put me back to where it was before tire change (3.42), and even though its a DD, its only eight street miles to work. It will be slightly higher spin at 75MPH, but I'll be able to exceed the speed limit over the passes. This is with '85 Sub, SBC350, TH350, NP208. Its still low enough for me; my interest is in trails to camping and shooting. But ya, if you talk to a salesman, they say "3.90 (?), yea, we can get them. Usually don't get much call for that." SO WHAT!
