3" lift kits

Looking at the kits for 2005 chevy silverado 1500

and they have 3" lift keys and 1" block for the rear and shock extensions

is there any difference between that and just cranking the bars up?

I have my bars cranked up about another 1.5" and no block in the back

On the nbs style chev, you can only get about 1.5" of crank out of them. Id suggest save your money and just keep the stock ones cranked. The more ya crank the worse the angles/ride will be and all that fun stuff.

My 97 obs is cranked about 2.5" on the stock keys, I wouldnt crank anymore as the ride is good and stiff.

over cranked bars and or key kits that crank them more than stock = hard ride and front end wear faster.

key kits basicly over crank the t-bars and let the upper a-arm rest on the bump stop/down travel limiters on the frame and = hard ride.

3" body lift is easy to do on these trucks and crank the bars a tiny bit to level out and call it good.

I saw a 1.5" body lift for like $150, but what do you do with the welded nuts in the bed rails that just spin when installing?
