well its been a long time since i have posted up here and life has gotten the best of me in a good way . i finaly wanted to get my current truck going to enjoy but as i said life has gotten me good . bench seat in a std cab with stick shift and twin stick 205 makes it basically a 2 seat cab . so the wife said lets build something all 4 of us can ride in and enjoy .
the hunt was on and i kept looking on the web and finally stumbled on a m-1009 blazer 45 min from the house . so i called up my good buddy @sweetk30 to help me look it over to make sure its as solid as the guy said . we went up to the guys house/shop and looked her over real good and decided to bargain a bit on price . then sweetk30 said its to bad that someone pulled the grill guard off years ago when it was turned in to a police blazer . the guy said no problem i have a whole parts m1028a1 out back that it rusted bad but runs great and has everything on it .
well one thing lead to another and we struck up a deal on the pair and loaded them up and dropped them off at sweetk30's shop to start the build up . so we looked them over a bit more in the day light and yep the m1028a1 is SHOT from rust bad . but the drive-line seems great with a easy starting 6.2 /th400/205 combo . the axles seem real good still as she was real hard to turn in the wet snow/ice/water covered driveway .
so for now the plan is strip the drive-line from the m-1009 blazer and deliver it back to the guy as he wanted to much as a whole but we didn't want it anyway so he gets it back . then pressure wash the whole tub and frame good before the build out begins . the tube is ROCK solid were everyone normally rusts out bad and the frame is SUPER clean with tons of original paint still on it every place . the whole exhaust system even unbolted and come out clean sweetk30 said .
drive line plans :
my old built sbc from truck #1
my nv4500/205 twin sticked from truck #1
what ever axles are best condition from #1 or #2 or combo
my current suspension combo 4" tuff country hd fronts / 22-547 56" rear and flip kit
1" -1.5" body lift for easy work and tire clearance
37" radial mud tires i have on 8 lug rims already
my old school beefy front winch bumper with ramsey electric winch and maybe the military brush guard mixed in possible
clean up the inside a little bit but keep it easy to clean and look family quality decent
pair of winches to pick from . not sure yet what one to use . thinking the 12k winch for the size capacity and fits in the same mount i have already .

. people should check these like a prostate exam
with 10 bolt and 31" tires on the rear still . waiting on the new perches and shock tabs for the 14ff to be a 1/2-3/4 ton spring width spacing and if need be dial in the pinion angle before
them on the axle for good .
