30 Spline axles for GM corporate 8.5 10 BOLT front axle. Not for Dana 44! These are the 30 spline inner, 19 spline outer axle assemblies, need new joint, $90 per side, may split up. Nice upgrade from the 28 spline axles. Have the 30 spline open carrier as well for $75.

is this a direct swap for any 10 bolt and what you think shipping would be to 22180 or how far is it from you to dc

I can deliver axles to zip code 02804 but even that is a good day from DC, check it on mapquest. I'll get back to you on shipping.

Answering a question about 10 bolt front ends can be tricky. Remember, GM 10 bolt corporate, Dana 44 and Dana 60 all have 10 bolt covers. These parts listed are specifically for GM corporate 10 bolt 8.5. Should any clarification be needed to identify which front axle you have, there would be plenty of posts on this site to address that. That being said...

These axles with the differential carrier will install into any 1977-1991 GM corporate GM 10 bolt 8.5 front axle. The carrier will need to be reshimmed for proper backlash and preload. No other special process or parts are required.

I'll get back to you with shipping.

Can't the 28-spline carrier be reused by opening up the side holes? That adds some machining (or die grinder?), but lets you re-use all the shims and avoid setting up the gears. The 30-spline spiders are still needed (so you might still end up sourcing a 30-spline carrier just for those), or a 30-spline lunchbox locker. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct, can be done, I've done it. Although the work involved exceeds the effort of simply installing a 30 spline carrier. Firstly, good luck trying to reinstall carrier with factory cast iron shims and not breaking them. That is unless you have no preload left. Secondly, swapping a carrier does not require re-setup of gears. You just need to reset backlash and carrier pre-load.
