305 Stalls when put in gear, not anymore

My 85 K5 has been having a problem lately. It will start and idle fine, but once it is put in gear, it stutters for a few seconds and stalls. I pulled the top off the carb, and it looked fairly clean, and the gas isn't too old. Idle speed seems right, but I might have it too low and not realize it, because the truck is kinda loud. Any ideas?

Quadrajet on a 305 backed by a 700r4, BTW

EDIT: I'm an idiot, just messed with the idle screw and now it's a lot more receptive to movement.
