If I was to swap from the stock 305 V8 in my 86 K5 with a 700r4/np208 combo to a 350 from a 78-79 suburban and my plans are to go no computer control, no pollution control mumbo jumbo, what all is entailed?

Pretty much all you'd need different that comes to mind is an older distributor, and a carb from same vintage.

Even if you have the CCC setup (I assume however you just have ESC since it's a 305, CCC distributor has an electrical plug on drivers side front, and passenger side top front) once you swap out the carb and distributor you are done.

Can't recall if exhaust is different, but I at one time helped swap a 305 for a 350 in a truck ('83) and the exhaust bolted up.

You don't need much. Just an appropriate carb and distributor. Something to look out for: If it is set up like my 85 305 was, the existing distributor has an additional harness that retards timing. You can just put that out of the way. There may also be another wire that connects to the 12V HEI power. You will need to disconnect that additional wire, otherwise you will not get voltage to your older-style distributor and it won't start (ask me how I know, lol).

Other than that, everything else should bolt up and fit just fine.
