What are the advantage's or disadvantages of the 350 yoke vs the 310 stock yoke?

Thank you,

Ed

Assuming you mean 1310 vs. 1350, the 1310 is a factory 1/2 ton size universal joint where 1350 came in one tons. It's simply a bigger, stronger u-joint.

I measured my Dana 60 Yoke that came from a military 1031 K-30, 3.218 out side dimension across the joint from cap to cap.

Technically 1310 = 3.250", this should be what you have. 99.9% of GM D60's have a 1310 yoke.

Doing a rebuild on the Dana 60, installing a Yukon grizzly locker, 4.56. want to decide about replacing the 310 with the 350 while im in there, so?

What are the disadvantage's or advantage's on replacing the 310 with a 350 yoke?

Price would be the only disadvantage, the 1350 is stronger and can handle more angle then the 1310

I was thinking the 1310 and 1410 took greater angles than the 1350.

1410 will definitely take more angle, but I'm pretty sure the 1350 is better then 1310.

XX10 series joints allow greater angle capability than XX50 joints generally speaking in our applications.

As basic as it gets:
1310 has small caps small cross.
1350 has big caps small cross.
1410 has big caps big cross.

right from billavista the info god . . .

1310 30*
1330 20*
1350 20*
1410 37*

max angle
I wanted to know if I should address the Yoke while its all apart know.
Doing a total rebuild on my Dana 60, installing Yukon Grizzly locker, 4.56, 35 stubs. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you.

no crush sleave in our dana 60 axles so its just a matter of swapping out the yoke and re-tourqe the nut again is all .

so if in a rush use what ya got and swap in the yoke you might want later .

Honestly, since you've got to buy it all for 1350, I'd go 1410. That's what I did, I figured just spend the money once. It's overkill but that can be fun too.

I run 1410 flange style , mostly recycled 2.5 ton military ends and slip yokes .
