32spline 205

Long or short input, tall or short adaptor?

Yep, the short input, tall adaptor. Pre-'85 NP205. Sorry, don't have one. I've got the opposite of what you are looking for.

if you are going doubler, you might consider going the "cheap" route...

1) get the cheapest fixed-yoke chevy np205 you can find ($50-75 on craigslist)

2) buy a married ford 205 on craigslist for less than $100.

3) swap the 32-spline front output and 31-spline female input into the chevy t-case

4) get a doubler with a 31-spline intermediate shaft.

done! if you already have a 10/27 spline np205, this is an even better plan. ;)

unfortunately, the only t-case ive got is a 208 :doah:

are the 32spline 205's really that much more $$$?

They are to the person who knows what they're worth. Gotta find a dummy to get one cheap.

how much should i expect to pay for one in decent condition?

on pirate a guy tried to sell me one that was 32spline throughout and he was asking $800!!

I see th400 version np205s selling for $400 sometimes. If you can find an idiot, you can get one cheap I'm sure. Problem is, thanks to the internet, there aren't as many ignorant people as there used to be. I was going to get a 32 spline 205, but the ford stuff was so much easier to find dirt cheap that it worked out better that way. I got 2 good ford 205s for $150... parted them and essentially got my 31 spline female input for -$30 or so.

or....
5) Convert an ordinary 10 spline or 27 spline 205 using special Bearing and spacers. This costs ~ $50. Oh... you gotta buy the 32 spline input too...

This is a good deal... If you can get something like this - it would be :thumb:

$800 is taking it in the butt.

$400 is the norm for 205 prices. I just sold one a few weeks ago for $400 locally. It was also like the 205 I've got right now.

The cheapest I've paid just for a 32 spline 205 was $100 and then turned around and sold it back out for $450 with a TH400 that needed rebuilding. And this was the short femal input, too.

I buy most of my stuff from the local farmers around here in town. Most of them don't know what they have and don't want junk laying around some times. My only other "problem" with buying all these truck parts in the county is my brother-in-law who also tries to buy them up before I do. We seem to always have a "battle" to buy so-and-so before the other does. Trust me, he rarely gets to the stuff before I do.

what exactly do i need from the chevy 203? there is a guy from pavement sucks that says that he will give me everything i need for the doubler, i just have to pay shipping. he has the whole case and its now apart, but to reduce shipping, what parts do i need exactly from it?

Range box and the adaptor. If you can get the TH400, get that too.
