33\" on stock 1/2 89 burb

I have talked with a ton of people and get many different answers. I currently have 31.10.5 r15 and found 33's that will fit the rims (1/2 ton burb). I don't do much off road driving except when I go look for animals to shoot. I am mostly road driving I have the following questions for the experts:
1) Will the 33's rub?
2) I tow a boat everyday in the summer, will the larger tires cause my 700r4 to wear out faster along with my u-joints?
3) What will the 33's do to my shift points?

Any other information will help!\
Thanks,
Adam

My '90 Sub had 33's and running boards with no lift when I got it. I don't remember it rubbing back then. Go For It!

yes they will rub but if ya get friendly with the saws all it's no problem. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Depends on the width of the 33" tire. One guy I work with put 33x10.5 BFGs on his '81 Blazer (stock height). No rubbing.

depends a lot on what 33s you run and whether your springs are sagging and what not. More than likely they will rub a little but since you don't offroad then you will probably never rub. On the tranny, you should be ok if you drive it right and don't put it in overdrive, tow in drive. but yes, it will put more strain on your tranny and make it a little harder to tow.
go for the 33s and if you take care of it you'll be fine

Re: 33

I've had my 33's rub on my lifted 73 K20 sub... of course, I was doing some rather massive articulation too, which really didn't help matters much at all. about the only time you'll hit while on the street is turning and hitting a gutter/bump in the road.
